Textile Recycling Cornwall & South West — Cornwall Recycling Group
Every year, thousands of tonnes of textiles are sent to landfill across the South West that could and should be recovered. Clothing, uniforms, bedding, curtains, and industrial rags — materials with genuine value, disposed of because accessible, legitimate recycling options have been hard to find in this part of the country.
Cornwall Recycling Group changes that.
We provide commercial textile recycling collections across Cornwall and the wider South West, working with specialist processors to ensure the maximum possible recovery from every load. Whether you're a hotel managing end-of-season linen, a retailer clearing unsold stock, a school replacing uniforms, or a manufacturer dealing with industrial rags — we have a solution.

Textiles We Recycle
Why It Matters Now
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations are reshaping how businesses across the UK are expected to manage their waste, including textiles. Organisations that get ahead of compliance now — establishing proper recycling routes and documentation — will be better placed as regulations tighten. Cornwall Recycling Group can help you build a compliant, documented textile recycling process that works for your operation.
-
Yes — we collect commercial textile waste from across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, and Bristol. Coverage depends on volume and material type. Get in touch with your location and estimated volumes and we'll confirm availability.
-
We accept textiles in all conditions — worn, damaged, stained, and mixed loads are all fine. You don't need to sort or grade the material before collection. The only exception is heavily contaminated industrial textiles, which may require separate handling — contact us to discuss.
-
Yes — all collections come with correct waste transfer notes as standard. This is a legal requirement under your duty of care as a business and ensures you have a complete audit trail for your records.
-
Collected textiles are sorted and directed to the most appropriate recovery route depending on condition and material — this includes reuse, resale, fibre recovery, and recycling. Our goal is always to maximise diversion from landfill and keep materials in the circular economy for as long as possible.
-
Our collection service works best for commercial volumes — regular loads or larger one-off clearances. For smaller quantities, get in touch and we'll advise on the most practical option, which may include bringing material directly to our Truro yard.
-
Extended Producer Responsibility regulations are evolving and will increasingly require businesses involved in producing or selling textiles to take responsibility for end-of-life management. Getting a documented recycling process in place now puts you ahead of compliance requirements as they develop. Get in touch and we'll help you understand what that means for your operation.
